He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their supplication. Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet unborn may praise the Lord: Psalm 102: 17-18
We are getting older as each day goes by. Perhaps the thought of leaving a written legacy for someone special in your life, for children and grandchildren, friends or people you don’t even know, occasionally flutters across your mind like a lone leaf falling from a bare tree. We think, “that’s for someone else to do; someone who knows how; someone more creative,” and we brush it off. But who better than each of us can leave our own story of faith experiences to be read and pondered some day? Who better than each of us can leave accounts of the miracles that have occurred over our lifetime? Miracles large and small- daily events that appeared routine, but in retrospect were monumental; like the influences of special people in our lives and unexplained paths we took; the perfect timing of events and their outcome; prayers answered and how God touched our hearts. All these, slowly over time, weave the tapestry of our relationship with Him. They reflect how He works in our lives. They witness God’s loving heart as He places before us every opportunity to be joyful, wherever we are in life; whatever we are facing. It is in looking back over these things that we see with greater clarity how the puzzle pieces fit exactly, and we are in awe!
When we actually stop and think about it; when our eyes become opened to His goodness, how can we not praise him? How can we not honor the Father for all He has presented before us; for all He has given us? How can we not want to shout it from the rooftops or at least share the story with someone whose life might be encouraged or in fact be forever changed by doing so?
When nudging thoughts flutter across your mind, take a moment and listen to them, and as God has directed jot them down - record them in some way. At the very least, it is an opportunity for you to ponder again the richness He has placed within you and around you, and see miracles for what they are. But you may be surprised at who would really enjoy reading your story.
Thank you God for loving us so! Help us to record our own legacy of Faith.
Again I thank you my friends for your prayers. Nan continues to make slow, but remarkable progress and we are grateful for the miracle of having her with us.
