O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever.
Psalm 107:1
Where do we begin to thank you Lord? How do we express appreciation for the extraordinary gifts you place before us? How do we show you the magnitude of meaning we hold in our hearts for the little things, the tiny, seeming insignificant influences in our lives?
Then we remember . . . you know each one of us Lord. You know the depth of our gratitude before we utter one word . . .
For the gift of life, the love of family and friends, for those distant from us as well,
For animals and birds, insects and crawly things too,
For trees and grasses, flowers and even the thorns,
For the moon and stars, clouds and the sun, the wind and the rain that blows against us,
For music and song, artwork and all creativity, struggling to be expressed,
For joy and laughter, for loneliness and pain,
For teaching and knowledge, for accomplishment through difficulties,
For work for our hands and minds to be challenged with, and for the challenge of searching for what our work is.
For happiness and tears, for peace and the discord preceding it,
For goodness and unexpected kindnesses, for tolerance and acceptance of those intolerant,
For good health and healing and for the search for you illness brings about,
For science and invention, for progress and miracles,
For food to eat and fullness of life, for contentment in our need, knowing many around us have little,
For the emptiness often present in our quiet search for you,
For the exhilaration at finding the gift of Faith you placed in our hearts,
We thank you Lord!
Happy Thanksgiving to you, my dear Blog Friends! May God bless you and your families always.
