for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’
Luke 4:10
Looking out the sunroom window, I did a double take! There inside the bird feeder tube appeared to be a little white angel shaped figure! First, I was in awe, then immediate concern that it was a small bird. But the way the sun hit, it looked like the profile of an angel! I stood for a moment with a smile on my face before heading out the door with Maizy to check it out.
When we got there, annoying the feeding birds by the way, there inside the tube was crinkled up paper towel that my husband had placed inside to dry that cracked tube. Nonetheless, it looked like a little angel suspended there, overlooking the birds and little animals around her. Keeping watch. Providing safety. My heart felt lighter. How I needed this little reminder today of the nearness of God’s love, the closeness of His angels and saints who lift my spirits constantly. How quickly that can be forgotten when life is overwhelming! Little did my husband know how much that simple act, made with no intention whatsoever of creating the result it did, put me back on track with a heart full of peace and gratitude.
We find God’s messengers and messages in unsuspected places, but we are surrounded by them. Always a surprise; always an “Aha!” moment! How good is our God!
Thank you God for opening up our eyes and hearts to the messengers you place among us!
