giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. Colossians 1:-12
How awesome to think that we are part of God’s kingdom of light because He qualifies us! How many times in our lives have we been unable to participate in a situation because something in our lives did not measure up to the criteria necessary? There was some obstacle – academic or ability, financial or position - that prevented us from joining in. Yet here we are being told that we have to do nothing really, just believe! We have been freely given this gift because God, through the sacrifice of His son Jesus Christ has already qualified us! Isn't that awesome!
It is rare to be provided an opportunity without some sort of string attached - some hidden agenda behind the opportunity. My Dad always used to say, “Nothing is free - at the very least, it takes a lot of work.” That may apply to worldly things, but here for us is a gift, presented with nothing for us to say or do to make it happen for ourselves - it is not contingent upon our ability or financial position - we cannot buy our way into it, for it is already there, accessible to us as believers in Jesus Christ. With it comes a deepening awareness of His ever presence. All we have to do is to accept this wondrous gift and live our lives according to Jesus’ teachings; doing our best to just “love one another.”
God of light, we thank you for this wondrous gift of light and life that you generously offer to us!
