Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold; for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her. Proverbs 8: 10-11
There are times in our lives when we feel it all come together. We know we are on the right path. Everything is going better than planned. We feel on top of the world, on top of our game so to speak. We know we are where God wants us to be at that moment in time. Nothing in this world can take the place of this glorious feeling within. For most of us this moment comes with a price; often hard work, and typically not without sacrifice at some level; some effort is taken on our part.
Following God’s call is not always easy. It may come with sacrifice and often pain. However, we instinctively yearn to know what He wants of us and deep within we instinctively desire to follow that call. Inspired by God in Scripture, inspired by the intuitive writings of the Saints and other wisely perceptive people, we begin to understand the longing in our heart. We begin to understand His way for us. We begin to understand the meaning and worth of our sacrifices. With sources of knowledge at our fingertips and through prayer of discernment, we are filled with awareness and a profound understanding of life that is not measured by riches and acquisitions, but of what fills our soul.
And in those moments when we feel it all come together – when we feel that bliss in our souls, we are grateful to God for these high points of encouragement, and for the wisdom in the paths He provided, that we were able to choose to get there.
May your wisdom fill our souls, oh God!
