So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest
time, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
AUTUMN
I feel so close to you here!
Overwhelmed by this feeling of peace,
I sit here absorbing everything around me.
The autumn sun warms my face and makes the leaves sparkle
like diamonds with last night’s rain.
The sweet, clean scent of wet leaves is everywhere!
Acorns fall haphazardly!
The children are running and laughing;
swishing through leaves and tumbling down hills –
a kite is flying!
Little hands pick up ripe, brown acorns, painted leaves,
dried colorful weeds and Nature’s myriad assorted treasures.
Squirrels busily hoard their winter supplies, while birds
knowingly call to one another as if in warning, “Hurry now! Time is short!”
Nature and mankind repeat scenes that each generation feels to be unique.
In your creations on your earth, oh Lord, have you revealed a sampling from Heaven?
It is no wonder, I feel so content!
We thank you Lord for glorious autumn days, for glorious harvest moments, for the treasures you have gifted us with!
